right here. right now.

i don’t have to go far to know that i am in the presence of God.

in fact, i don’t have to go anywhere at all.

what beauty it is to know that God is with me where i am. right here. right now.

we search high and low, and as far as east is to west, in hopes of finding where God wants us to be; what he wants us to do.

our mission is here. our mission is wherever we go.

may we not become so expectant of God placing us in location “a” because it seems like where we are called. may we become expectant of God placing us wherever He chooses because He is wise and knows all things. our mission takes us as far as we allow ourselves to see. couldn’t one say that when we step outside of our “christian-group” that we are on the mission field? i know what God has called me to do. he has called all of us to do the same. to love him with our heart, and soul, and mind, and strength. and in the same; to love our neighbor.

mark 12:28-34 has become a favorite passage for me in the past few months.

28One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”

29″The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”

32“Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”

34When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.

so what does it really look like to love God in all of these areas? to love him, and just be with Him – where He is, you already are? what does it look like for me to love God in all of those areas? i pray that i – we – may have patience in this understanding, and that we prepare ourselves for what the Lord will show us.

God is good. all the time.

love Him. even when it hurts. even when we want to give up. even when we say we have given him enough.

grace and peace.
